San Francisco in 100 years...

How shall the new environment be programmed? It all happened so slowly that most men failed to realize that anything had happened at all.

SF working men

San Francisco Chronicle reports on things that matter to me. This dude is from San Diego, but he looks Swedish.

Please buy our city's newspaper! Don't let internet kill the journalist star! This is the basis of Citizen Kane, it goes down in newspaper history, we cannot let this gem of San Francisco die!!! Please please please save the newspaper! Subscribe.

My New Toy

I recently received a lovely Golden Half camera from my sweet, little mum. The shop in Noe Valley that she works at, Wink, sells thousands of adorable gibbets including little My Neighbor, Totoro toys, cute notebooks, rings, and books about useless Japanese inventions (really funny, she gave me that as a little gift as well.) Having a mother who works in the retail industry and receives discounts certainly has its benefits.
Anyways, I want to continue discussing this nifty Golden Half camera. 35 mm, when you develop the film there are 2 photos together instead one, because only half the frame is used when you take the picture. So, if you want, you can take pictures in matching intervals; each set of 2 can have a theme. Or not. I am sure I will fail to keep a theme going, I'm not on that photographic level yet. There is also a hotshoe input gadget so that you can add a flash, if desired! It weighs nearly nothing. I use 400 film.
Here are some of the fruits of Golden Half's labor:

I forgot about that...

On Nuit Blanche 2009, Michel de Broin displayed this ginormous disco ball above Luxembourg Garden, which is near the Sorbonne. At the time, I just thought of it as just another disco ball, only large and outdoors. I thought it looked neat, but I had been mending a broken bone and did not feel like standing in the humungous line. I could not imagine how long those people had to stand, sulking and enviously watching people who arrived early enjoy dancing at Luxembourg. I hear their cries.
Now I look at this article and have to give my complete attention to the artist. It must have been fun to make and pretty arduous for the construction workers, so great job kids! M. de Broin's other work is equally, if not more, impressive than the disco ball. I really like his "Keep on Smoking" bike design, I have to mantle one together for myself.
"Late Program" is not too shabby as well.

If SF had Nuit Blanche, the best thing for the city to do is to have the world's largest Moon Bounce in Dolores Park... all the locals know what I mean by this. It is probably a little more safer than that firework that blew up that one drummer girl's hand on 4 of July 2007.

Lets Rumble

There was a baby earthquake today- 4.1 on the Richter Scale... felt like a nice little pounce, but confusing since I am never sure what is stable around this little town.

There was one in San Jose too...my cousin Regina was pissed because The View stopped airing oh so suddenly.

Fishroxy & Supertwins

I have always thought that if I had one of these boards, I would not mind the atrociously cold Pacific and winter waves that would eat me alive. But, these things are expensive, so I'm going to remain afraid

It's time to be nice to the people you can't stand all year

SF, Christmas Eve...it's kind of difficult to remember that it's the holidays in this city, especially since it has not been raining as much in the winter for the past couple of years. It's nice out today and the ocean is a bit dreamlike for someone from Indiana. Happy Christmas, Hannakuh, etc.

Just kill the man

Finally got the pleasure of viewing the harnesses of Zayna Bayne at Shotwell on Grant Street. Yeah, they're fucking cool and I sort of would not be bothered if I had to wear one, even though they are the least practical product in the world.Oh, how I have missed the obscenities of San Francisco and their impulse to be as groundbreaking and vulgar as possible.

About last night

Yesterday, my famous parents threw a nice little fête involving sexing, cheating, drinking, and holidaying. As the night progressed, I noticed more and more people saying "Oh hello, Mary Queen of Scots". Yes, the name is not too ironic and I have been called it several times in my life (sometimes I pretend I'm royalty, on those long nights where the only good thing in my life are re-runs of South Park), but once the sixty-fifth person called me it, I questioned things. Well, it turned out Mum sent out invitations to have a 21st birthday for me. She had informed me that it was a holiday party that also acknowledged my triumphant return to the States. So it was a delightful surprise, despite being called Mary Queen of Scots and learning there was a fleet of invitations sent out starring yours truly. We also celebrated my parent's friends' birthdays, Addie and Dan. All in all, the party was excellent. Everyone knew I had fun with the extent of my shameless maneuvers and neglecting to keep my legs a bit more closed in public. A real way to have a 21st birthday is to be sure everyone around is in their 60s.
