Atlas Sound at Point Ephereme!

Atlas Sound's new sound, "Criminals". Trés genial concert, merci Bradford Cox!
Opening Band: Choir of Young Believers, from Denmark!

MARCELLO! COME HEEERE!

Federico Fellini 1920-1993

He and his leading lady/wife of La Strada and Nights of Cabria, Giulietta Masin, who only died only four months after him of lung cancer.

I beat feet over to the Jeu de Paume the other day for a glance at the Fellini exhibit. Trés, trés bon! One of my favorite directors honored in my favorite city- I'm a lucky little girl.

Avec Triumph!!

My computer crashed and burned, taking every ounce of music and photography with it. So, I'm starting from square one and I am hoping to make my blog newer, improved, and hopefully a bit more chic!
What I've been up to:
Another visit to Montparnasse cemetery before class. I enjoy seeing Man Ray the most, surprise surprise.

I visited Le Centre Pompidou to see the best Surrealist art there is to know. Pompidou is an art piece in its own right. I'm sure the French would cringe to read this, but the design is a bit steam-punk to me, or it should be in the film Brazil. That is a compliment coming from me, though.

Besides Man Ray, the exhibit showcased many of my idols; André Breton, Salvador Dalí, Max Ernst, René Magritte, aaaaand etc.
I tried something new, consumption wise, and I still don't know what the actual name of it is. If anyone knows, comment! But, it was dangerously tasty and a cross between a greasy texture of a donut and a pastry interior. That's my best description, which is a pretty bad one.

My visit to Prague was short, but sweet. I went to everything that exists in that town, it seems. I think I like the history of the place more than the actual town (the current culture is a little, meh) and the shadow of communism to stalks the city. I love that eeriness. The story of Jan Palach is FASCINATING and utterly creepy. I also learned that until recently, there was an official Czech law that parents could only name their children one of 365 names on some list. That's remarkable! And currently, parents have to go to the government for permission to name their baby something that is not on the list of 365 names. So there are no Apples, Pilots, Vaginas, or Tiger Lilys running around Czech Republic.

The Franz Kafka musée is a must!!
Oh, and yesterday I saw Lou Doillon waltzing down Rue de St. Antoine Faubourg at noon...didn't think she rises so early. The only way I can describe her is she's like a leopard in a crowd of people, she movies so coyly! Her outfit was simply some jeans and a puffy jacket, but her demeanor is so oh la la. I wish I had her confidence, sigh.

HEALTH Halloween

HEALTH on Halloween night? Does Paris really want to go down in flames? Tonight was a lovely display of drones, light travel, experimental dance sequences, and and a performance made for lucid dreamers. HEALTH is wonderful live; if they come to a city near you (and most likely they will- they go universally everywhere) buy that ticket to see them, you won't regret it. With a lot of noisiness and experimentation is serenity and beauty. Their silhouettes are dramatically bold as they do their own stylistic form of rocking out. The random screams and cries also pump you up, so they're keeping punk alive

My friends and I had the honor of speaking with them for a bit, and they're just as great dudes offstage as they are onstage.

Post Script: HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Jay you Reatard!

Jay Reatard cancelled on Paris two nights ago- apparently his band has quit on him for being a total drunken fool and pissing on his guitarist...love it. Anywho, this means I have an opportunity to see either Atlas Sound or The Horrors to compensate for a lost, loud night. I also learned today that Grizzly Bear plays in Stockholm the night beforemy arrival there. So I suppose seeing both Atlas Sound and balances out okay, oui oui oui??

L'Aniverssaire

Today is my 21st birthday...voila. Je ne sais pas, mais je n'aime pas mon anniversaire et je veux etre age huit, sil vous plait! Anyway, I got back from Scotland yesterday and I am impelled to return soon and never leave. J'adore beaucoup!!! I went to a comedy club, the country, Edinburgh, Glasgow, the cathedral in Glasgow, graveyards, castles, universities, Mackintosh museum, and many bus stations. I can't believe how perfect was. Also, the shopping was way more chic and innovative them originally expected, so cheers my dears.

Save me

Marais treated me like a proper destitute princess today. I got my whole outfit for only 7 euro, excluding my boots from Topshop. Though many perceive the get-up as complete shit, I'm pretty excited! I feel as if my Grammy (mum's mum) is smiling in her grave in Salinas right now and saying "Atta girl Mei Mei". A tattoo dedicated to her next? Mum don't read my blog.
